Why I Created This Curriculum
Hi, I’m Maytal — the teacher and curriculum designer behind CreateCodeLoad.
Learning how to animate my lessons transformed the way I taught. My classroom became more visual, interactive, and engaging, and I found myself looking forward to each lesson as much as my students did. Parents began telling me that, for the first time, their children actually enjoyed math.
I watched abstract ideas come alive before my students’ eyes. Concepts that once required lengthy explanations became easier to follow, and students became more curious, engaged, and willing to participate.
But the most meaningful change wasn’t only what my students could see — it was what I was now able to see. In a sense, animation gave me another version of myself in the classroom.
While the animated lesson guided the explanation and revealed each solution step by step, I was no longer tied to the board. I could watch my students’ faces, notice hesitation, recognize when an idea clicked, and see when they needed me to pause or explain something differently.
I created this curriculum because I want other AP Calculus teachers to experience that same transformation — without spending hundreds of hours designing and animating every lesson themselves.
More than anything, I want it to give you more time and attention for the part of teaching that matters most: helping your students gain confidence, make connections, and finally see calculus come to life.
All my best,
Maytal
