FREE Tech Class Posters
to Spark Inspiration
I don’t know where I first saw these classroom posters, but I remember how excited I got about delivering positive messages to my students in a language even a computer could understand… (well, not really, but almost :)). I played with some ideas in Scratch for a while, and last weekend, while waiting for my son at the chess tournament, I got out my graphic software and started creating away! I was surprised at how many ideas I actually came up with, so I ended up splitting this post into two. I’ll share the first four classroom posters in this post, and next week I’ll have 5 additional posters for you!
A quick FYI - unlike some of the images you'll find online, these were not actually done inside Scratch, and so they are scaled correctly, and are meant to be printed either on an 8.5x11 or an 11x17 sized paper. So, choose the appropriate size for your printer, and you won't get that annoying pixelated effect. Feel free to use in your own classroom, just no commercial use, please...

Classroom Poster #1: Work with Others!
It's not news to anyone that teamwork is one of the core pillars of 21st century learning. Few jobs today don’t involve working with others in teams, and it is our job as teachers, to keep practicing this very important skill with our students. But remembering to offer help and that it's ok to ask for help, is sometimes harder than it seems! This classroom poster on your bulletin board will serve as a great reminder...
Classroom Poster #2: When I Struggle, I Grow!
It's essential we teach our students from a young age that life without struggle is a life without success. Although deep down we all know this, sometimes all we need is a reminder that there is (almost) always another way, and therefore we shouldn't give up...
Classroom Poster #3: I'm Not Good at This... YET!
There's nothing like encouraging that positive attitude in our kids. I always tell mine, there's no such thing as 'I'm not good at this', there's only 'I can't do this... YET!'
Classroom Poster #4: With Each Mistake, I Get Closer to the Solution!
When our kids were younger and they would get frustrated when they couldn't quite succeed at something in the first few trials, my husband would tell them the '409' story. The '409' story, in case you're not familiar with it, is the story of how the 409 brand of cleaning products got its name because the first 408 attempts at creating the formula failed. These days, as soon as we see the first signs of frustration, all we have to say is '409', and the kids know they have no choice but to keep on trying...
That's it for today! Like I said before, I'll have 5 more classroom posters for you in next week's post. I hope these posters help add just a bit more positivity and motivation to your classroom.
If you have any ideas for a coding block poster you'd like me to make, I'd love to hear it! So, please write it in the comments, and maybe, just maybe, I'll have one extra roundup post of inspirational posters later on in the year!
